It is now Jan 17, 2009 and the number of green clothing companies that manufacture women's organic clothing has skyrocketed. Even some of the cornerstone companies of the apparel industry, like Levis and NIKE have seen the green light. They have been manufacturing organic lines of their jeans and athletic wear and are now in full production with the market responding like their IS a tomorrow. Sales of organic womens clothing have soared in recent years as more and more of us 'cotton on' to the fact that cancer and other immune function diseases can be prevented and even cured by living a toxin free life.

AURA - 100% organic cotton blue jeans in a number of great styles for women. The Aura Co is very popular brand with celebrities, but they are very affordable at around $135.00 CAN.

EDUN LIVE - a company that brings organic cotton t-shirts out of Africa. Edun Live is one year-old, socially conscious fashion label that supports farmers in developing-world nations. Edun Organic Clothing was founded by Ali Hewson, wife of U2 singer Bono, and hip clothing designer Rogan Gregory. Edun Live produces organic-cotton T-shirts made in Africa. LEVI STRAUSS - old time and original jean company, Levis jeans have been a cult item for decades and continue to show themselves to be a company for the dwellers of the cutting edge. They have launched 3 organic jeans lines, which are widely available.

STELLA McCARTNEY - Organic T-shirts, dresses, jackets, sweaters and more. The Stella McCartney line of organic clothing is so designer, it is clear to me that some of the wealthy have woken up from their opulence induced stupor to take steps toward a green living standard. Stella has joined up with Adidas to make an organic athletic wear line. Way to go Stella!

BLUE FISH - If you want a high end organic hemp clothing line, this your baby. Gorgeous, albeit pricey, designer dresses, outfits, shirts and accessories, all made from organic hemp fabrics.

VICTORIA'S SECRET - YES! Victoria does have a new secret and here it is...the famous ladies under garment company is making it's first green overtures; Reps from Victoria's Secret showed up for the first time at the recent Organic Exchange's annual conference on growing, selling, and marketing organic materials and goods, held this year in Utrecht, The Netherlands, from Sept. 13-15.

AMERICAN APPAREL - an American Clothing Co that is manufacturing a large line of organic pants, jeans, t-shirts & hoodies.

PATAGONIA - a great green jeans company with several lines of organic green jeans, including cutting edge designer jeans worn by many celebrities.

GYPSY 05 - creators of a really popular and stylin' line of organic clothing for women, including th famous Gypsy 05 T-shirt dresses in 100% cotton.

NIKE - organic athletic wear by NIKE? YES! It has happened, the giant has gone green and we can thank all the elite athletes of our time for demanding a toxin free way to dress for workouts and sports. After all, our bodies take in toxins while we sweat. An exchange is made between our skin and the air or fabric that surrounds it, especially when sweating.

LULULEMON - a fantastic new green clothing company, specializing in womens yoga, pilates, dance and casual wear. They are a community minded company that just started up about a decade ago and now have stores all over the world. Lululemon is one of the new leaders to bring organic clothing to the athletics wear industry.

BLUE CANOE - Hip is definitely the word on the street when it comes to Blue Canoe. Organic bras, crossover yoga bras, mini skirts, off the shoulder & scoop neck designer T-shirts. Cutting edge styling means you don't have to dress funky to go organic. This is a really cool line of organic for young women & cool grammas too.

Gaiam is rooted from the word GAIA, which is what a great many cultures and religions of the world call mother earth. Gaiam specialiazes in organic sleepwear, yoga, pilates & athletic wear as well as organic cotton bras. Very reasonable prices.
