WHY ISNT EVERYONE LIVING GREEN BY NOW?
Why is it that so many people are still living as if toxins in our personal environment are not a huge problem? If it is so easy to change our lives to eco friendly practices, why are there still so many people who will not even consider an improved alternative way of living let alone make the few simple changes to how they live?
Whats up with them?
In my opinion, they are just not ready to face the terrible truth about what we as a species have done to harm our planet and thus our very future. The truth, in this case, is an enormously powerful, terrifying & painful thing to face. To say the least, it is most certainly, very depressing for a little awhile, once you have opened your eyes to the reality of this beautiful planet, now so messed up in so many ways, by such huge powerful industries, systems, corporations, populations, individuals and governments. It is not just depressing, really, it is absolutely terrifying to inform yourself of just how toxic waste is managed and where they are ending up. Or how those toxins will make us and kids seriously ill in the short run and the long. Terror is not an intelligent way to face your life, and this is why people would rather cling to their old ways instead of embracing the new?
Really? No one. That's the truth. In fact, I wish I was still able to live in the rosy world of blind denial. For me, that ship has long since sailed. There is no going back, once you check out the real situation and that is another reason why people still prefer to stay in a fantasy world. Fantasy world is great!. Corporate Manufacturers are all very very responsible and nothing bad can happen to us if we are exposed to the chemicals that pervade every part of our life. OUR KIDS WON'T GET CANCER in Fantasy World. No wonder no one wants to leave such a wonderful place and will not even listen for a moment to anyone who may burst their bubble of infantile blindness.
So all you advocates for the ethical treatment of our planet earth and all of us living creatures upon her, TAKE NOTE:
We must take great care, when speaking to the citizens of Fantasy World, to offer up our enviro bulletins, green info and eco solutions with compassion & kindness. Those who have not yet made changes to their lifestyle are just scared to death to have to come to grips with the enormous problems we all must somehow solve, before it is truly too late.
So be patient with those still needing their blinders to get through the day. They will need all of our support to get to the point where they too will start to believe that if we all just make the small changes in our daily lives, the planet and all of us may yet be able to heal these injuries. Getting angry with people who are afraid is always vastly counter-productive folks, so keep it kind. Keep it light, hopeful and chill on the fear mongering.
After all, in the end, the human experience on our Mother Earth is about bringing love & compassion to a desperate place and to each other as we strive to manage Life on Earth.
